The reasons behind a movie poster is to help promote and advertise the film. Most posters normally include photographic images and some sort of text which is put there for the public eye to read, this may simply be the title, a catch phrase or the major actors or actress involved. The text on film posters usually contains the film title in large lettering and often the names of the main actors. It may also include a tag line, the name of the director, names of characters, the release date and other various information. Film posters are displayed inside and on the outside of cinemas, and elsewhere such as in the streets or in the windows of shops. The image that is displayed on the movie poster is normall the same image that appears in the film.
